Answer #1

Ans1)Lactose and glucose broths

Explanation:SIM (SulphideiSulphide indole motility) media is used to test the ability of bacteria to reduce sulphates into indoles and motile in agar.

Phenol red broth media is used as differential media that contain a pH indicator to show pH changes during fermentation.

Phenol red broth consist of a phenol red(pH indicator),a durham tube and one carbohydrate(glucose, lactose ,sucrose)

So both glucose broth and lactose broth media contain pH indicator to show pH changes during fermentation of glucose or lactose carbohydrates.

Ans2)negative

Explaination: Escherichia coli is a gram negative bacteria so it give gram negative reaction.

E coli is a non- acid fast bacteria.

Ans3)There is a bubble that collects in the Durham tube.

Explanation:When the bacteria is a fermenter means it is able to ferment glucose in media then gas is produced as byproduct which can be tested by an air bubble that will be formed or collected in Durham tube. If the bacteria is non fermenter than it is unable to ferment glucose so no gas is produced hence, air bubble will not formed in Durham tube.
