Working together in your Golf group and taking your management roles, you have decided to design a new motivation program for your golf course staff to enhance their performance and increase revenue and profit of your golf course. Design your motivation program using ONE of the following motivational approaches: (10 marks) a. Job Design - Your management team will start their motivation program by designing a job for just three staff members who they choose from among all their staff. Your team has decided to start by using Job enrichment for one job design and using two different alternative schedules to design the two other jobs.

The job enrichment I would like to design for one employee under the Marketing and Sales department for my Golf Group would be a job where the Sales employee would be having a basic pay for the Sales made for the Golf Courses which are offered by our company for effective prices. But to make his job more interesting, many prizes and incentives are added where if he makes more than 10 sales a day for the golf courses, he would be getting 20% of the sales price for every unit sold including the 10 ones as well. This would not only motivate the person to perform better but also makes his job enriched and full of performance and learning as well. To make this experience more fulfilling, many training and seminars regarding the sales management and classes would also be provided to make sure the employee is trained and developes for his marketing and sales arena.

The same schedule would be followed for other two employees as well. But as they are in production of Golf balls and packaging function of the company, those two employees would be provided with different job enrichment techniques. The production one would be provided 20% extra for producing more than 1000 balls a day which is a standard unit by our company. He would be getting 20% extra pay per ball produced over 1000 (not including 1000 in those). The other one is in packaging function and that employee would be getting 20% extra per package produced over 100 (not including 100 in those). The safety and operations management training and developmental programs would be provided to make sure they are safe and motivated in their jobs.
