Answer #1

Ans) It should be noted that DNA consists of four bases namely Adenine,Guanine,Cytosine and Thymine. Wheras, RNA has Uracil,Guanine,Cytosine and Adenine. Thymine is not found in the RNA.

Since, ATT sequence has Thymine in it, this is DNA sequence and not RNA sequence because Thymine is not found in the RNA sequence as discussed above.

GAA sequence is transcribed into CUU which codes for Leucine amino acid (from codon chart)

AAT sequence is transcribed into UUA which codes for Leucine amino acid (From codon chart).

Even when 2 out of 3 nucleotides are different, they are still coding for the same amino acid i.e Leucine. This type of mutation is referred to as Silent mutation.

Lab #14 Protein Synthesis Introduction Proteins are vital for the survival of an organism. Proteins make enzymes and hormones which control reactions that must take place in the cell to survive.Proteins are made of basic units called amino acids. There are a total of 20 amino acids. Different proteins have different number and/or combination of amino acids. The kind of amino acid that is used when producing the protein depends on the 3-base code (codon) read from the RNA molecule...
