Answer #1

Answer 1. Amnion:-

It is the embryonic sac in which the embryo develops inside the womb of a mother. It is a protective covering having three layers as, chorion, yolk sac and allantois. All together, these membranes behave as a protective barrier and helps in exchange of gases between placenta and embryo, also provides nutrition to embryo and helps in removing the nitrogenous waste from the sac. The sac filled with the embryonic fluid called amniotic fluid acts as shock(mechanical shock) absorber for the developing embryo.

Answer 2. Allantois :-

This is one of the membrane layer of the amniotic sac which helps in the gaseous exchange (oxygen and carbon dioxide) and also helps to remove the nitrogenous waste outside the sac. It extends to become the part of umbilical cord performing functions.

Answer 3. Chorion:-

It is the outermost layer of the sac. Chorion along with amnion forms the sac and helps in the development of the embryo. Chorion has two layer. The inner one combines with amnion and the outer one called extra embryonic ectoderm. The fluid of chorion, called chorionic or amniotic fluid works as a shock absorber for the fetus.

Answer 4. Yolk sac:-

Yolk sac is the safety covering of the developing fetus. Before the placenta is formed properly, the yolk sac provides protection to the embryo. It helps in the gaseous exchange between the mother and the embryo. It is filled with fluid that helps in protecting embryo from any mechanic shock and also helps in providing nourishment it. It is attached to the umbilical cord and that part is called yolk stalk which helps in circulation and exchange of oxygen and CO2 for the developing embryo.
