Answer #1

Discharge , bottom width and upstream depth is given which will help in findind velocity of flow in upstream. Further we will find the value of Fraud's number which will give the idea about flow type. At the end we will apply equation of hydraulic jump to find the depth of downstream.Son Griven, Discharge = 400 cfo Width of upstream = 12 ft up stocam flow depth down Stocam width = 32 ft. 32 12 Rectangular iAt the same time We know that भ Y & Ye are sequent depth of Jump Than 1+ i +8F . Water flows in a 100 ft wide rectangular channel at flow rate = 300 ft3/sec. Manning's n = 0.015 and the bottom slope = 0.002. Calculate/answer the following: a. the uniform (normal) flow depth assuming the channel is wide and shallow. b. the critical flow depth. c. the flow depth upstream of a hydraulic jump with downstream depth = normal depth. d. the type of channel slope at the given normal depth: mild, critical, or steep (select one). f. the basis for your answer in...
