Online communication refers as a type of communication between organization or individuals at starts and ends on the internet. Typically, it is how people share or pass the information over the internet through a network of computers.
Ways of online communication are as follows-
1. Video conferencing- it is a conference between two or more participants at different sites by using computer networks to transmit audio and video data. Each participant has a video camera, microphone, and speakers connected with their computer.
2. Email- It is one of the digital ways of sending letters. You must have an email account in order to send and receive these web based text messages. Besides text messages, sender can also attach other files like images and documents.
3. Social networks- these platforms allows members to connect with their friends, family, and make new friends from across the world. Some of the most popular social networks are Facebook, My Space, Twitter and Instagram, and others.
4. Audio conferencing- it is used to communicate with friends, family members, business partners and students. Typically, it is a connection between two computers equipped with speakers and microphones. Skype is an example of audio conferencing.
5. VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)- it is a combination of software and hardware that enable to use internet to transmit telephone calls. One benefit of VoIP is that the phone calls do not attract any surcharge apart from the internet access bill.
6. Chat Room- this is an area on the Internet, basically, communicated to a particular topic, where members can communicate and share their interests or opinions with other. One member types a message that is accessed by all other members who are online in the chat room.
7. Forum- it is a type of website that allow members to post questions, start a discussion or contribute to various discussions. Each individual question or discussion referred as a thread. It is usually updated and monitored by the Admin or moderator.
