From the personal information of the user like name, address, email, phone number and other personal information to the account information like the bank account number, balance of the bank account, type of the bank account, card number and all other relevant information related to the person's bank account.
Hence the user has both personal information of the user as well the banking information of the user.
The most critical information would be the information related to the user's bank like account number, card number, bank balance.
The less criticial information could be the user's personal information related to his identification, like his id proofs and all the unique information the user possesses.
The least critical information would the user's name, address or phone number. Though these also need to be protected.
The bank should ensure that all the information about the user is masked and stored in the bank's database so that if there's any attack the attacker can't get direct access to the data. Hence bank should use strong encryption techniques. The bank should have the policy of regularly changing the pin, passwords set by the user so that the information is not static and hence cannot use that information for irrelevant use or misuse the information.
If the information is compromised the bank should be held accountable and should ensure properly if a fake transaction occur the user doesn't suffer and the bank ensures the user gets the money back. The bank should regularly keep their systems updated and the encryption techniques the bank is following.
The bank should ensure they have proper security system installed in their bank branches and the security system is regularly updated and checked. Proper security guards are appointed outside the bank to ensure the bank security is not compromised. The bank should keep the money in lockers and safes and should ensure the person entering the bank is first checked, his/her purpose is known and only then he or she is permitted inside the bank. Every user entering the bank should be checked if he doesn't possess any objectionable material or looks to perform any suspicious activity in the bank. The bank security system should not be hackable and secured by proper algorithms.
Hence by these steps, they can protect the bank from physical intrusion by robbers or people trying to compromise computer systems.
