Least expensive pathway is Hydroxy propionate pathway because the net yield to fix two molecules of Co2 is only three ATPs in this cycle. Whereas calvin cycle requires 9 ATP per molecule of Co2 fixed, reverse TCA cycle requires 4 ATPs per molecule of CO2 fixed. The last cycle requires 8 ATP per molecule of CO2 fixed.
