Calcium in blood is bound to protein and most of calcium are in bone.Majority of phosphate occur in bone and rest in intracellular component. Parathyroid hormone ,vitamin D, and Calcitonin help in calcium phosphorus regulations. Parathyroid stimulates production of Vit D in kidney .Important effect of bit D is absorption of calcium from intestine. Calcitonin is hormone that function to reduce calcium levels.

Calcium and phosphate work differently in blood as calcium rises in blood phosphate level fall.
