Answer #1

1. Belief patterns which I inherited from my family are several. One of the most important ones is that if I hurt someone intentionally the same will happen to me in due course of life. My family strongly believes that we should never intentionally hurt any person as we live to have a peaceful life for self and ensure the same is enjoyed by others who are living around us.

2. My family and society are old cultured and do not believe in the modern way of life. In our custom, marriage is one of the precious ceremonies in life which happens only once in a lifetime. The sexual act is expected to happen only between two people who are legally married. I believe in this idea very much strongly even today, but do acknowledge that this idea has no relevance in the modern day. Today, we can see a lot of couples living together without getting married, divorced, etc. Hence this belief has no importance today.

3. The superstition which I strongly believe in is not to hurt a person, even though he must have hurt me. In today's world, every human being has become more egoistic than ever before. Hence, all deeds performed would be for one's own benefit and nothing else. I know that today we must stand by the law of "a tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye". But, my superstitious belief will not allow me to do so as I strongly do not believe in hurting anyone. This action of mine only has a moral value and has no logical reason behind the same.

4. My personal code of honor is not to hurt anyone around me verbally or physically.

5. I have compromised my sense of honor by shouting at my colleague while working. As my action was in public and he got hurt, it really made me feel bad from inside. Ever since I began practicing meditation to calm my mind and stay peaceful in all work conditions I come across.
