I'm using R studio to solve a question however I'm getting this error.

> z.test(chang, mu=1.2, sd=1.700345, alternative"greater", conf.level=0.95)

Error: unexpected string constant in "z.test(chang, mu=1.2, sd=1.700345, alternative"greater""

I don't get why I'm getting this error.

The z-test can be performed in two ways in R

  • One way is to create the test statistic manually.

              z=sqrt(n)*(mean(x)-mu)/sigma

  • Another way is to use the function z.test() in the library
