The Chimeric antigen receptor T cells are cells that have been retrovirally transduced with a tumour specific T cell receptor in order to treat leukaemia.

When CAR T cells infused to the patient, they act as a living drug against cancer cells. When it come in contact with target antigen on the cell, CAR T cell will bind to it and become activated to give cytotoxic behaviour.
