Answer:

Isozymes differ in amino acid sequence but catalyze the same chemical reaction, therefore they will vary in molecular weights (size). Electrophoresis separates macromolecules that differ in size, charge or conformation. Heavier form of isozyme lags behind (seen towards top) in the polyacrylamide gel, while the lighter form will run faster and seen towards the bottom of the gel.
