Sanger sequencing is based on chain termination by selective dideoxynucleotides, which was developed in 1977 by Sanger. It gives reads of >500 nucleotides.

Here the top of the gel is towards the top of the gel. So the bottom represents 5' end and the top represents the 3' end of the double-stranded DNA molecule.

Hence, the sequence is-

3' CCGTCTAGG 5'
5' GGCAGATCC 3'
