PARP inhibitors are the type of targeted cancer drug. Poly-ADP ribose polymerase (PARP) is a protein found in cells. It helps damaged cells to repair themselves. As in cancer treatment, PARP inhibitors stop the PARP from repairing cancer cells and cell dies. Olaparib is a type of PARP inhibitor for women with ovarian cancer, fallopian cancer, peritoneal cancer. Researchers found that PARP inhibitors may be particularly effective against cancers in people with inherited mutations, that includes BRCA and PALB2.
