Consider this course a training program. Identify the types of outcomes you would recommend using in evaluating this course and the evaluation design you would use. Justify your choice of design based on minimizing threats to validity and practical considerations. How should this course be evaluated in terms of meeting the needs of a diverse group of learners? Explain your answers.

Employee training and development is an important feature of any progressive organisation. Employees need to be trained on different things so as to keep them abreast with latest trends in the industry, impotance of teamwork, motivation, product relatedtraining etc.

The most important methods for measuring the training programme results are:

1. The participants should be satisfied with the training which is imparted to them. For this written or oral feedback can be taken from the participants. They can be asked simple questions regarding the whole training programme. the participants can be asked questions regarding the content of the programme or how it was delivered?

2. It is important to evaulate the training on the knowledge aquired by the trainees.There can be an examination at the end of the training to gauge the knowledgde gained or aquired by the participants. If there is some more support required to be given to trainees it can be provided. Those area where further training is required can be identified.

3. It is also important to see that knowledge aquired by the participants of the training programme is actually being used. What were the behavior in which changed was being seeked? The partipants should be able to use their new knowledge in the real world.

4. The main idea of doing a training programme is to improve the overall effectiveness of the business. we need to see the key area where the improvement has taken place.

I would recommend all the above four outcomes in evaulating this course. Each one of the above mentioned methods are important to gauage the real worth and effectiveness of the training programme.

The evaulation design will consist of feedback form, personal interview of the participants, observation, feedback from the trainer etc There should be different form of methods so as to understand the effectiveness of the training programme. This will also ensure that the evaluation is comprehensive and able to find out clearly the utility and effectiveness of the training programme.
