Transduction-DNA is released after the donor cell lyses, the process is characterized by infection of the donor cell by a bacteriophage, DNA enters the recipient cell via DNA transporters, transforming elements absorb across the cell membrane.

Transformation- DNA is released after the donor cell lyses, transforming elements absorb across the cell membrane.
