Pleaaseeeee provide detailssss and a long paragraph!
What did you learn about the Human Microbiome? What surprised you and where in the document did you find the information? How does our relationship with microbes reflect principles of evolution?
Human microbiome is the full array of microorganisms (the microbiota) that live in the humans. They represent the collection of microbial genomes that contribute to the broader genetic portrait, or metagenome, of a human. The genomes that constitute the human microbiome represent a significantly diverse array of microorganisms such as bacteria, archaea, fungi, some protozoans and nonliving viruses.
Bacteria are the most numerous members of the human microbiome: the bacterial population alone can be accounted at between 75 trillion and 200 trillion individual organisms, while the entire human body consists of about 50 trillion to 100 trillion somatic cells. The huge microbial abundance suggests that the human body is in fact a supraorganism, a collection of human and microbial cells and genes and therefore, a blend of human and microbial traits. After knowing this phenomenon, I am really surprised. I find this document from this site: https://www.britannica.com/science/human-microbiome
Most of the members of human microbiota benefit humans by providing them with traits that they do not possess. Some microorganisms found in the human gut, responsible to obtain nutrients from ingested food in return for assisting with the breakdown of food or preventing the colonization of the gut by harmful bacteria. However, many microorganisms in the human microbiota are pathogenic. Examples include bacterial species of the genera Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Enterococcus, Klebsiella, Enterobacter etc. C. difficile infection is characterized by the severe recurrent diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and nausea. Obesity is associated with the abundance of Prevotella and Firmicutes bacteria.

The Microbiome is a central theme of our textbook. Every chapter you will see a section on microbiome related to the chapter contents. The purpose the discussion forums is to extend your learning and to deepen your understanding of concepts presented in the course. To contribute to this discussion forum: Watch the TED talk on our microbiome "Meet your Microbes" (Click on the link to watch the video)and write a short report (200-250 words, in your own words) on what...

Find information about some of these microbial communities for humans, animals or plants. Explore the benefits of these microbial colonies for the host organism. You can discuss the human microbiome, or the plant mycorrhizal associations, or a combination thereof. Are there similarities in the benefits for both animals and plants? Is there a 'logic' to why some microbiomes are bacterial while mycorrhiza are dominantly fungi?
