Brenda has been on antibiotic therapy for 1 week and has developed diarrhea as one of the adverse effects. She still needs to continue the antibiotic therapy, and the physician suggests Lactobacillus acidophilus (Lactinex). What is the rationale for this?

Side effect of Antibiotic in the body includes,

1.Severe watery diarrhea and abdominal cramp.

2. Vomiting.

3.White patches on the tounge.

4.Allergic Reactions.

Herein the physician has suggested the patient to take up Lactobacillus acidophilus (Lactinex) which is the 'Probiotic" to overcome the Diarrhea and other stomuch infection,that has happened due to the course of antibiotics which makes imbalance in the normal bacterias of the gut.Thus Lactinex is a intestine friendly bacteria that helps to maintain the balance in the gut.These probiotics improves digestion and restore normal flora in the gut.
