11. the position of last but one -OH group tells about the D or L configuration of the substance .As the - OH gp on last but one C-atom is present on the right hand side of the Fischer projection it is the D- configuration ( Dextro) and if it is present on the left hand side it is L-configuration (Leavo) .

So

A= L configuration

B = D configuration

C = L configuration

D = D configuration.
