Define the two types of reactions our bodies have to a stressor
Two types of reaction our body provides to a stressor are;
1. Hypothalamic pituitary adrenal reaction;
The stressor activates the Hypothalamic, which stimulates Pituitary gland. The pituitary gland secretes adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) which acts on adrenal glands. These glands in turn produce the hormone corticosteroid such as Cortisol which enables the body to maintain steady supplies of blood sugar. Adequate and steady blood sugar levels help person to cope with prolonged stressor, and helps the body to return to normal.
2. Sympatho- Medullary Reaction;
In response to stressor, hypothalamus activates the adrenal medulla which produces hormone adrenaline. This hormone prepares the body ready for a fight or flight response. Physiological reaction includes increased heart rate, blood pressure, increased body temperature etc.

-Define Eustress, distress, and stressor -What is the general adaptation syndrome? Know the stages and what they mean. -What is homeostasis? -The 'physiological stress response' in your body helps more with which type of stressors? What are examples of our bodies physiological response to stress? -What is the leading cause of death in the US and know the causes. -What type of health conditions in humans may chronic stress produce? -What are strategies that help individuals to have more stress...
In some cases, our bipedal adaptations have changed areas of our bodies so much that it is difficult (if not impossible) for these areas to perform other functions. For example, our pelvis provides the areas of muscle attachment that we need, but its unusual shape makes human childbirth more difficult. The foot is another area that reflects the impact of bipedal specialization. What foot traits and corresponding functions seen in other primates has been lost in our feet, why would we have lost helpful features...
why do our bodies need vitamins and trace minerals? Give two examples and their function.

Why is eating healthy food important for our bodies, our health, and our ability to deal with stress?
1. We have studied two types of condensation reactions that are similar in many ways. There are others. Below is an example of the Perkins condensation, using what you know about condensation reactions draw the major product.
