Answer #1

1. Green house effect is the the natural phenomenon which leads to overall warming of the planet. It is the heating up of earths surface and atmosphere because of the absorption of sun's heat energy by the gases present in the atmosphere..

1.a) Gases contributing to the green house effects are carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, fluorinated gases and water vapour. all of them traps the heat waves radiated from the earth surface and keeps the earth surface and atmosphere warm.

1.b) The relationship between green house effect and carbon cycle are antagonistic.

carbon cycle acts as a source and sink for the green house gas Co2. It helps in eliminating the CO2 from the atmosphere thereby reducing the amount of gas and so it maintains the balance between the amount of gases produced and eliminated . The ocean sea floor acts as the major sink for the CO2 along with the terrestrial plants and soil .

1.c) several actions can be taken globally , nationally, locally and individually to reduce the green grouse effect:-

Globally , the world is looking at the mitigation and adaptive approach towards this problem. The world aims at controlling the production of excessive green house gases and stopping them from getting into atmosphere. several protocols have been issued on limiting the range of carbon emissions and CFCs emission ( Montreal protocol signed in Canada)

Nationally a country can have an eye on the overall carbon emissions and can cut their release in atmosphere. uses of fossil fuels should be minimized. better and efficient utilisation of energy. slowing down human growth, deforestation and plantation of treees.

locally cutting down of trees should be avoided , plantation should be promoted, awareness can be spread.

And individually it comes the most of the responsibilities and each and every person should play its own part, they should plant trees , they can use energy efficient vehicle, can use public transportation rather than own, be aware about the consequences and can take every single step in combating this green house problem.
