Temperature.

Intensity of sunlight.

In hotter regions, skin is exposed to more graduations due to less clotging on the body which in turn affects pigmentation of skin. In contrast to that people living in colder areas have less darker skin because skin is protected from direct impact of solar rays by clothing on the body.

Intensity of sun rays regulates the pigmentation of skin.
