NO. Hearing something is very different than listening to something. The reasons are described as under:

Hearing refers to the physical sensation of receiving the sound when it falls on our ears. It is the general reception of audio messages that may that may or may not make sense for us. Listening, on the other hand, is the reception of audio message as well as its meaning that is to be conveyed by the sender of the message. Listening is very important while communicating as it involves both sound and the message tagged.

Hearing van happen consciously or unconsciously by us. But listening is something we choose to do. The act of listening is actively receiving and remembering the message which makes sure that we are actively taking part in the communication. If you are listening and not just hearing, it will increase your credibility in the perception of others.
