Answer #1

Ans :

A)To improve compressive strength.

B)To improve toughness.

C)To improve tensile strength.

D)To improve thermal stability.

Addition of fillers change the mechanical properties of a polymer drastically. Normally the fillers are considered to possess high modulus of strength and elasticity than the matrix material.

So addition of fillers in the polymer improves compressive and tensile strength . It increases the toughness of the polymer and also the thermal stability of polymer.

It basically depends on the type of fillers used and the amount added in relative to the matrix material.
