Note that normal soup generally contains up to 600 mg of sodium. But canned soups have more sodium in comparison to fresh soups, i.e. up to 800mg. So, if you are eating an entire can of soup, this means that you have consumed atleast 800mg of sodium.

There are three main macronutrients in food: Fats, proteins and polysaccharides. Fats are also known as triglycerides. This is because of their structure. They contain three fatty acid chains joined to a glycerol molecule.

On the other hand, the structure of carbohydrates is different. They are composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. The general empirical formula of all carbohydrates is (CH2O)n. In simple words, they are hydrated carbons.

Energetically fats contain more energy than carbohydrates, because they remain in clumps (groups). While one gram of fat yields 9 calories, one gram carbohydrate yields about 4 calories.
