e. With a 10-minute cycle time and six workstations, what is the efficiency?

f. What is the total idle time per cycle with a 10-minute cycle time and six workstations?

g. Create a workstation assignment to balance the line with a 10-minute cycle time. What is its efficiency?

Cycle time = time avilable / units to be produced = 24x60/96 =15 minutes

which is the maximum possible cycle time.

(iii) For 10 min, cycle time, the production rate will be 24x60/10 = 144 units

(iv)Min number of stations ( theoretical) = task time / cycle time = 50/10=5

However practically, more tations will be needed.

Efficiency with 6 workstations = Task time / Cycle time x Number of WS

= 50/6x10=0.8333 =83.33%

Idle time per cycle = 6x10-50=10 min.
