With this significant breakdown of the chemical pathways that effect how our brains respond to hormones like insulin, and how we naturally encourage its overproduction, feel miserable about the lifestyles of those dealing with diabetes. In addition, I really do think that my perspective on obesity in general has changed. I put too much blame on those struggling with their weight in the individual. With this new clear and obvious data that alerted me not only to the inherent biological struggle of weight gain, but the institutionalized challenge of our food system, ESPECIALLY how it impacts lower income communities.
