Question about ANOVA.
I have a hypothetical scenario. So we're conducting a study. In the study there are four types of treatments (three are drugs, one is placebo), and two types of people. So 8 groups of people all together, right? Subjects are measured at baseline and then at another point say in three months or so.
My question is does time also count as an IV? So the IVs would be type of drug, type of person, and time? Making this a 3-Way ANOVA?
Yes this is a 3 way ANOVA problem. There are three independent variables here, type of drug, type of people and the time of testing. For tabulating and calculating their interrelationship, a 3 way ANOVA is the best way.

Question 4 (2 points) Saved The study "Transcatheter or Surgical Aortic-Valve Replacement in Intermediate-Risk Patients" was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2016. This study compared the efficacy of two treatments for cardiovascular malfunction. Over 1,000 low-risk patients were randomly assigned to a standard treatment: a type of invasive heart surgery. Another 1,000 low-risk patients were randomly assigned to a nonstandard treatment: the use of a less invasive non-surgical catheter. Researchers compared the two treatment groups, and...
A trial evaluated the fever-inducing effects of three substances. Study subjects were adults seen in an emergency room with diagnoses of the flu and body temperatures between 100.0 and 100.9ºF. The three treatments (aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen) were assigned randomly to study subjects. Body temperatures were reevaluated 2 hours after administration of treatments. The below table lists the data. Data Table: Decreases in body temperature (degrees Fahrenheit) for each patient Mean Group 1 (aspirin) 0.95 1.48 1.33 1.28 1.26 Group...

Fruits and vegetables are rich in "antioxidants" such as vitamins A, C, and E. Will taking antioxidants help prevent colon cancer? Clinical trials are usually conducted in phases that build on one another. Each phase is designed to answer certain questions. Knowing the phase of the clinical trial is important because it can give you some idea about how much is known about the treatment being studied. There are pros and cons to taking part in each phase of a clinical trial. Phase I clinical trials: Is the treatment safe? Phase I studies of a new drug are usually the first...
