Explanation - The ligands for receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) are hormones like as insulin and various Growth factors like as Epidermal growth factor(EGF) , Transforming growth factor, Platelet derived growth factor, Fibroblast growth factor and colony stimulating factor.

Mechanism activation of RTK in cell as follows:

ligand -ligand-binding site, Plasma membrane Exte cioe cytosolie Içkinase a domain D catalytic | igte ATP ADP e Hocytosol

  1. All RTKs consists of Extracellular domain containing a ligand binding site , a single hydrophobic transmembrane alpha helix , and a cytosolic domain that includes a region with protein tyrosine kinase activity.
  2. ligand binding causes a conformational change that promotes the formation of a functional dimeric receptor, bringing together two intrinsic or associated kinases.
  3. Which then phosphorylates each other on a tyrosine residue in the cytosolic domain .
  4. The activated kinases then phosphorylates other tyrosine residues in the cytosolic domain.
  5. The resulting phosphotyrosines function as docking sites for various signal -transduction protein.
