Functions

Epinephrine- Epinephrine has another name Adrenaline, It helps to increase glucose level in blood of human, through beta receptors it increases heart rate. During tension, Epinephrine secretes and this response is termed as flight or fight response.

Norepinephrine- It increases blood pressure because it causes constriction of blood vessels. Along with it it helps to release renin from kidney. Like Epinephrine it also increase glucose level.

Androgens- Androgens are the hormones present in both male and female. In male they are Testosterone, androstenedione. In female they are Estrogen, Progesterone. These Androgens helps to develop the reproductive organs.

Mineralocorticoids- As the name suggests these hormones plays an important role in maintaining mineral levels in body. An important mineralocorticoids is Aldosterone. In distal tubular part of kidney, it regulates the exchange of mineral like sodium and potassium.

Glucocorticoids- Glucocorticoids helps to store glucose by preventing the uptake of glucose in muscle. It also helps in gluconeogenesis for production of glucose.
