Answer #1

ANS .A Vasoconstriction of cutaneous and nonexercising skeletal muscle blood vessels occurs. This provides a thicker layer of insulation between the body core and the environment, which minimizes heat loss. Vasoconstriction does not occur in the cerebral circulation, and 25% of the total heat loss from the body can occur through the head if a hat is not worn

Shivering occurs; these involuntary skeletal muscle contractions increase heat production, which warms the body. Shivering also causes blood flow to skeletal muscle to increase, which decreases the insulation layer; therefore shivering is not an effective means of conserving heat.O2max decreases, and maximal muscle strength and power decrease with hypothermia.

Vasoconstriction is a response to being too cold. The process involves the narrowing of blood vessels at the skin surface to reduce heat loss through the surface of the skin. When you are cold you may start shivering. Shivering is caused by involuntary contractions of your muscles.

ANS. B

Vasodilation is the widening of blood vessels. It results from relaxation of smooth muscle cells within the vessel walls, in particular in the large veins, large arteries, and smaller arterioles. The process is the opposite of vasoconstriction, which is the narrowing of blood vessels

Sweating is a bodily function that helps regulate your body temperature. Also called perspiration, sweating is the release of a salt-based fluid from your sweat glands. Changes in your body temperature, the outside temperature, or your emotional state can cause sweating.

Blood vessels supplying blood to the skin can swell or dilate - vasodilation. This causes more heat to be carried by the blood to the skin, where it can be lost to the air. Blood vessels can shrink down again

ANS. 6 (d) percentage of body fat

The body maintains homeostasis for many factors in addition to temperature. For instance, the concentration of various ions in your blood must be kept steady, along with pH and the concentration of glucose. If these values get too high or low, you can end up getting very sick.

ANS. 7 (a)

Cold weather tends to constrict the blood vessels to preserve body heat and maintain core body temperature.” That might mean you end up getting slightly less blood flow to your extremities, which could make your fingers feel like they're smaller, he added.

ANS. 8 (b)

Muscles in the colored part of your eye, called the iris, control your pupil size. Your pupils get bigger or smaller, depending on the amount of light

ANS. 9

Ans 9. Osmo REGULATION - The mainland OSMO REGULATION – The mainrance of Pelatively stable, Volume, pressure, and solute conc
