Answer #1

Ans 4) It is given that when one glucose molecule is oxidized,it will result in 10NAD+ being reduced to NADH.

Thus, 10 glucose molecules will be required to reduce 100NAD+.

To reduce 89,446 NAD+, We will do simple cross-multiplication

1glucose molecule = 10 NAD+

"x"glucose molecules = 89,446 NAD+

Thus, 89,446 x 1 = 10 x "x"

Or "x" = 89446/10 = 8944.6 or ~8945 glucose molecules.

Ans 5) It is given that 1 glucose molecule produce 2NADH and 2 Pyruvate molecules .

Thus, when 94,661 molecules of NADH are produced, the same number of molecules i.e 94,661 molecules of Pyruvate will be produced.

During EMP glycolysis, 1 molecule of glucose is broken down into two molecules of pyruvate and 2 molecules of NADH are produced. During fermentation, 1 molecule of pyruvate is reduced. During this process, one molecule of NADH is oxidized. If 34 molecules of glucose are broken down during glycolysis, and all the resultant molecules of pyruvate are reduced by fermentation, how many molecules of NADH will remain?
