Explain how secondary active transport of sodium is involved in re-uptake of water
Answer-
1. Some body cells like small intestinal cells uses sodium glucose cotransporter to transport water across epithelial membrane where osmotic gradient is not present there.
2. In small intestine there is coupling of solute transport with water transport and this is done by cotransporter protein like Na+/glucose cotransporter.
3. The small intestinal cell transport water by cotransporter mechanism because small intestinal cells do not have water channel proteins and water permeability is extremely low in this cells.
4. Water transport in small intestinal cells is secondary to active sodium transport. Ths sodium and water transport is mainly depending on presence of D-glucose.
5. When Na+ is enters cell with the glucose which is pumped out towards the blood using 3Na+/2K+pump and glucose is transported out by facilitated diffusion. This transport of Na+ increases local osmotic pressure in intercellular spaces that generates osmotic water flow across epithelium.
6. So that water is cotransported alongwith Na+ and glucose is transported through sodium glucose cotransporter in epithelial cells of small intestine.
Explain how secondary active transport of sodium is involved in re-uptake of water
explain how electrons, h+, active transport and passive transport all are involved in assisting with the ability of atp synthase to work?
In secondary active transport, the sodium iodide transporter moves iodide into the thyroid gland from the blood plasma. It cotransports one I- for every two Na+ ions. In mammals, this protein is found predominantly in the thyroid gland, but also in salivary glands, kidneys, gastric mucose, ovaries, and, importantly, in mammary glands, where it is responsible for uptake of iodide into milk, delivering this important element needed to make thyroid hormones. The point of this process is the ACTIVE transport of iodide. Where...
For the secondary active transport which relies on Sodium pump( Ca, Glucose, Amino acid, H), what will they be influenced by deplorization state of potential membrane?

Question 14. Match the transport process to the correct description or example. Secondary Active Transport is: transport of sodium out of a neuron transport of glucose into a cell, against its concentration gradient transport of glucose out of cell, with its concentration gradient transport of a steroid hormone into a cell transport of large macromolecules into a cell transport of signal molecules out of an endocrine cell making a new covalent bond import of an entire bacterium into a white...
Secondary active transport relies on coupling of two transporters and requires energy. What form of energy is used by each of the coupled transporters in secondary active transport?
Describe briefly the chemistry involved in waste water treatments. Explain primary, secondary and tertiary water treatments with the chemical reactions involved in the treatment process.
What is the difference between passive and active transport? Provide an example of a transport protein involved in the passive transport of K+, and one protein involved in the active transport of K+ across the plasma membrane and explain the direction of the flow of K+ in each case (from inside the cell to the outside, or from the outside of the cell to the inside). Also explain for each of your examples if the transport is uniport, symport, or...
