Explain in depth how the edible leafy green plant you are able to eat is able produce a small amount of useful energy-rich molecules you can use for your own metabolism via photosynthesis.

A edible leafy green plant is able to produce a small amount of useful energy by a process known as photosynthesis. In this process, plants prepare their food with the help of water from the roots and carbon-dioxide to fix carbon compounds like glucose. The food is produced in form of carbohydrates like glucose which is further converted into sucrose and stored in form of starch in plants. Starch is a carbohydrate component which is very essential for growth and development in humans. Now we eat this green leafy plant , with its cell walls that contains proteins and its food reserve. On eating this green plant, which is full of starch, first this starch is broken down into disaccharides like sucrose and other fat components are turned into simpler components in the stomach by HCl. Now the sucrose is now converted into sucrase in the small intestine which is further converted into monosaccharides like glucose and fructose which gives us energy. So this how by using plants food which is prepared by photosynthesis we use our metabolism to derive energy from that food.
