Ans) d is not a repair mechanism, it is referred to substitution which is a type of mutation that occurs on DNA which replaces nucleotide without the help of a comlementary strand. While the others namely option a refers to base excision repair wherein nucleotides are added by DNA polymerase after the removal of short stretch of damaged polynuceotides., option b refers to direct repair which are usually UV radiation mediated repair of nucleotides, option c refers to the mismatch repair which involves identificaton of mismatched pairs, determine the base which has been misatched and removal of the same followed by replacement of correct base pair.
