Answer #1

Answer-

According to the given question-

The reactions which are taking place in living organisms are being controlled by several enzymes. One such enzyme is  Peroxidase which convert hydrogen peroxide into water and generate oxygen

2 H2O2 → 2 H2 O + O2

To check The presence of any sample having peroxidase enzymes the sample is  mixed with a compound Guaiacol which is also called 2-methyoxyphenol.

The enzyme peroxidase convert hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen, and the produced oxygen then reacts with the compound Guaiacol which gets oxidized and converted into a brown color compound which gets tetramerize to form tetraguaiacol and the brown colour produced in the reaction are measured by using a spectrophotometer by setting 100 % transmission of blank sample used. Here inn this reaction the hydrogen peroxide work as oxidizing agent and take the electron and proton from the Guaiacol compound and hydrogen peroxide gets reduced while the Guaiacol gets oxidised.

Considering the above question

The correct answer for the question is (C) The Guaiacol is being oxidised to tetraguaiacol and hydrogen peroxide is get reduced to water.

Question 10.

form the above information we can easily get the answeer for the question-

Considering the above question

The correct answer for the question is (D) Guaiacol is colourless but tetraguaiacol has a brownish pigment . so the transmission of light can be used to measure the reaction progress.
