Coronal suture - coronal suture is between forntal and parietal bone.
Lacrimal fossa - location: inferior surface of orbital plate of frontal bone. Lacrimal sac is located in the upper part of lacrimal fossa and nasolacrimal duct in lower part.
Pterion - it's the point on the lateral side of the skull where frontal, temporal, sphenoid, parietal bone join together. Location: on the lateral aspect of the skull. Anatomical Significance: it's located above the anterior division of middle meningeal artery. Importance: A heavy blow on the pterion can cause rupture of anterior branch of MMA and also carotid artery and can cause death of the patient.
Squamous suture - squamous suture is located between parital and temopral bone.
Lambdoid suture - is located between parital bones and occipital bone.It connect the parietal bones with occipital bone.Sagittal suture(between parietal bone) and lambdoid suture get a characteristic lambda shape.
External acoustic meatus - conduct sounds from outside to the tympanic membrane. Shape: "s" shape. Length: 24mm. Parts: outer cartilaginous part(1/3) and inner bony part(2/3). Note - Hair follicle are only present in cartilaginous part and not on bony part; hence furunculosis(infection of hair follicle) is only seen in cartilaginous part.
