C3 photosynthetic pathway used by the plants to fixed gasous carbon dioxide in the form of starch and sucrose as the food material. In this pathway in the first step when one molecule of carbon dioxide (1C) react with ribulose 1,5- bisphosphate (5C) ,it form 2 molecules of 3- phosphoglycerate which is a 3C compound. that's why this pathway called as C3 pathway.

You can see the outline of the pathway in the figure.

CH₂o- A (10) Co2 СНОЕ P (Fixation) СИОН hom) CHO- (50) Ribulose 15 bisphosphate Starch Sucrose (Regener Fructose CHOH CH₂0-6 so PGA is formed in the C3 photosynthetic pathway.
