Please look at these two photos of an unknown gram positive and gram negative bacteria that were Gram stained. What is the morphology/characteristics of these unknown bacteria?
AA
Solution:-
We know that baceria can be identified or differentiated in to two groups by gram staining. They are Gram positive (+) and Gram negative (-).
Gram positive bacteria stain voilet upon staining due to the presence of thick layer of peptidoglycan which retains crystel violet. Where as Gram negative bacteria stains red due to thinner peptidoglycan layer.
so the first picture we see in red is gram negative bacteria which has thinner peptidoglycan layer. They are also seen as rod shaped in appearance. So they may be belong to bacterial group Bacilli ( rod shaped bacteria).
the second picture we see in violet is gram positive bacteria which has thicker peptidoglycan layer. They are seen in spherical shape. and also grape like structure. So they are actually belong to the bacterial group Staphylococcus

Gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria differ in that A. Gram-positive bacteria have more peptidoglycan in their cell walls. B. Gram-positive bacteria have fimbriae but gram-negative bacteria do not. C. Gram-positive bacteria are spiral-shaped, and gram-negative bacteria are either rod-shaped or spherical. D. Only gram-negative bacteria can form endospores. E. There is no difference between gram negative and gram positive bacteria F. Gram positive are positively charged and gram negative are negatively charges An unknown bacterial species was found in the blood...
43.Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are found in: a. Gram-positive bacteria b. Gram-negative bacteria c. all Bacteria d. Archaea e. Eukaryotes ------------------------- 44. There are similarities and differences between Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Which of the following is not true? a. The cell wall of Gram-negative cells is composed of only one or two layers of peptidoglycan whereas the cell walls of Grampositive bacteria have many peptidoglycan layers b. Only Gram-positive bacterial cells have a periplasm 2/6/18 8 c. The cell membranes of...
1) Is Bacillus subtilis bacteria gram positive or negative? 2) Is Bacillus subtilis capsule - or + ? 3) Does Bacillus subtilis has motile? 4) What is the morphology and arrangement of Bacillus subtilis?
Describe the color of Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria in each step of the Gram staining procedure. (Be sure to account for the procedure, the reagent, and the colors of Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria in your description.)
Name one media that will only allow Gram positive bacteria, but not Gram negative bacteria to grow and describe how this media select for gram positive bacteria.
lake-up Micro Lab: Identifying Unknown bacteria: dentify the Unknown Bacteria Lab Experiment elow are results from the unknown lab experiment. The identity of this bacteria is not known. Your ask is to use the data below to form a hypothesis of the identity of this bacteria. Record your results on he chart (Table 1) below and make a prediction on the bacteria based on your results. There is a list of ossible bacteria below. You may need to look back...

The13M is my TSA plate. The one labeled L is my gram stain. The gram stain is gram negative with rods. I am trying to figure out what biochemical test to run for my gram negative rod slide to determine my unknown bacteria. My test run from- starch plate, MAC, MSA, EMB, SIMS, urea, phenol red surcrose, simmons citrate, MR/VP. 13m We were unable to transcribe this image
