Answer #1

2.

a)Diltiazem Decrease Heart Rate.

It is a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure, angina, and certain heart arrhythmias.

Diltiazem works by relaxing the blood vessels in your heart and body. This reduces your blood pressure. This drug also lowers your heart rate and dilates your coronary arteries.

b)Diltiazem Cause increase in the Stroke Volume.

Stroke volume: The amount of blood pumped by the left ventricle of the heart in one contraction.

It works by relaxing blood vessels in the body and heart and lowers the heart rate.

Eventhough Diltiazem Reduce the Heart rate,It doesn't reduce the Cardiac Output.By Relaxing blood Vessels in the Heart,It increases the volume of Blood Pumped Per Ventricular Contraction,That is the Stroke Volume.

That is Drug Diltiazem reduces the heart rate by relaxing blood vessels of heart it Increases Cardiac Output by Increasing the Stroke Volume.

Cardiac Output:Stroke Volume * Heart Rate.
