Answer #1

Q 1. DNA replication is a process where replica of DNA is produced from the parent DNA. Replication requires the DNA to separate the strands. In double helix ,one straand acts as leading strand where as another strand act as lagging strand. Lagging strand undergo replication discontinuously in small fragments. So before lagging strand can begin assembling new DNA nucleotides, primer must be present in order to start the replication. Thats why RNA primase must construct a short primer prior to this process. So the answer is option C.

Q 2. DNA ligase seals the the small fragments / okazaki fragments formed during the replication of double stranded DNA .So the answer is option A.

Please answer all Question 1 (0.5 points) Why is there a lagging strand and a leading strand during replication? O Because the helicase unwinds the dna in only one direction. Because DNA polymerase can only add nucleotides to the 3'end of a chain of nucleotides and replication proceeds in both directions. b) c) Because a primer must be laid down first. because DNA polymerase lacks proofreading ability. Save Question 2 (0.5 points) What step(s) in polymerase chain reaction are necessary...
