Thyroid specific Nuclear factor erythroid 2–related factor 2 is the transcription factor responsible for the production of thyroglobulin . The absence of this transcription pathway will lead to decreased production of thyroglobulin which acts as a precursor for thyroid hormone , hence causing hypothyroidism
