Answer #1

THE STATEMENT THAT IS FALSE FOR mRNA MOLECULE IS

THE CORRECT ANSWER IS E ) SOME CODONS CODE FOR MORE THAN ONE AMINO ACID

RNA has nitrogenous bases ADENINE (A) , GUANINE (G) , CYTOSINE (C) and URACIL ( U) which form the 64 possible combination of triplets which are called as codons.

From the 64 possible combinations, three codons help in termination or end of transcription which are known as STOP CODONS which do not code for any protein synthesis. They are UGA, UAA and UAG.

The codons are in triplet form and are commaless and each codon consists of three nucleotides.

The genetic code is degenerate, because there are 61 codons available for 20 types of amino acids. Therefore in some cases, several different codons can specify the same amino acid. For example GGG, GGA, GGU and GGC all these CODONS code for the amino acid GLYCINE.

The codon of mRNA binds to the complementary strand of anticodon of tRNA similar to that of Dna and RNA.

Question 9: The genetic code is read in groups of three nucleotides, called codons, in mRNA that specifies for a particular amino acid. tRNA molecules act as the amino acid carriers that by correctly pairing with the codon on mRNA can deliver the correct amino acid to the ribosome during translation. At the tip of each tRNA molecule is a group of three nucleotides called an anticodon and at the other end is where the corresponding amino acid is attached...

The genetic code is read in groups of three (3) nucleotides called codons. Some mutations are silent because they have no effect on the phenotype. How is that possible? Since there was a mutation in one of the codons, that gene will not be expressed. o It is not possible, mutations are always expressed and always have an effect The mutation changed the codon but the new codon codes for the same amino acid The ribosome knows there was a...

There are 20 different tRNA molecules, one for each of the 20 amino acids found in protein. During protein synthesis, the job of a tRNA molecule is to carry its particular amino acid to the growing protein chain and find the correct amino acid position there. It does this by matching a 3- letter anticodon on the tRNA to a complementary 3-letter codon on mRNA. Below, in a diagram of a ERNA molecule, nucleotides are represented by small circles, some...
