part 1

The first figure (a) figure represent euchromatin region which is loosely packed and uncoiled. The second figure (b) represent heterochromatin which is coiled and tightly packed. The heterochromatin has high DNA density and are stained dark where as euchromatin has lightly stained regions with low DNA density.

part 2

The more fragments will be generated by euchromatin that is first figure . This is because active genes are more susceptible to nuclease activity that heterochromatin even though it have high DNA density.The euchromatin is transcriptionally active where as heterochromatin us transcriptionally inactive either permanently or temporarily.
