As a project manager, would you manage the critical path tasks differently than non-critical tasks? Why, or why not? If yes, what would you do differently?
As we know that if critical path tasks will not be managed properly and adequately then whole project work might be incurred extra cost as well as delay in completion. So, as a project manager, I will give extra attention to such task whose fulfillments requires huge attention. I will make the following tactics into action,
1) Properly schedules the whole time frame for the organization.
2) Extra resources like men and material must be arranged before the continuous project start specially focus will be kept to such activities which might pose problem of delay.
3) A sub-plan will be prepared to ensure early start and before finish to such activities which falls on critical areas.
4) Use of efficient labor and supervisor will be utilized to such areas.
5) Effort will be taken to remove the scheduling and operational constraints.

W4A2:
Tasks:
See above to view the network diagram. Using the diagram,
find:
-The critical path.
-How long it will take to complete the project?
-How does simulation determine the probabilities of various
project completion times?
-What is "slack" and why is it important?
-Why is activity-on-arrow (AOA) or activity-on-node (AON) of
significant value to the project manager?
-How is the uncertainty in project scheduling dealt with?
-Should the critical path activities be managed differently from
noncritical path activities? Explain....
(a) Develop a network diagram for the project. What is the critical path and how long is the
project expected to take?
(6 m) (b) Which activities have a slack time of 8 weeks or more?
(2 m) (c) Discuss five challenges a project manager faces in events such as this one.
(12 m) (d) Why is a work breakdown structure useful in a project such as this? Take the 26 activities
and break them into what you think should be level-2, level-3,...
Tasks A, B, C and D are in the critical path of a project, all the tasks are estimated To require similar effort of 5 days each and cost $ 5,000 per task What is the Question 42 5 A 10 B 15 C 20 11 16 earned value (EV)? $5,000 $5,000 $5,000 $5,000 $ 5,000 Choice 1 complete: Task C is 50% complete At the end of day 11, Task A and Task B are and $13,000 has already...
Which one is not correct about the critical path method (CPM) in project management? Duration of a project is equal to the duration of its critical path. There could be more than one critical paths. Crashing a project is shortening the duration of the critical activities. The tasks on the critical path can be delayed without delaying the project duration. Slack times of activities on a critical path are zero.
Consider the project described in the table below a. Find the critical path. Why is this “critical"? b. If your customer tells you that he absolutely must have the project completed by day 40 what should you tell the customer? Develop a quantitative reason for your answer and be very specific as to how you would handle this situation. Activity a 1,2 2,4 3,4 12 10 15 18 12 12 4,7 5,7 6,8 7,9 8,9 10 15 20
How are the tasks of the Project Manager and the tasks of the Instructional Designer related? How might the completion of these tasks complement each other or compete for finite resources? Who should define the priorities of the project? With these thoughts in mind, consider the following: Assume the role of the Project Manager. What do you see as the key priorities and important factors that should be considered during the initial phases of a project? How does the role...
It was determined on the following project that the duration for the tasks contained some uncertainty. After more research, the optimistic and pessimistic values were determined. 1. a. Calculate the expected time and variance (using the 95 percent level of confidence) for each activity. b. Determine the critical path and time for completion c. Calculate the probably that the project will finish in 30 days. Calculate the probably of completing the project in 27 days. Other than the critical path,...
Why is time management such a critical skill for a project manager? What are some time wasters to avoid on a project? Explain how time is wasted on a project.
IT project management Being an experienced Project Manager how you will manage if Project Team Members are not working seriously. Discuss with some real example.
In critical path method, we begin by assuming infinite resources. Why is this necessary to the method, and why do you think this could be an issue later in a project planning process?
