Antibodies on Bcell membranes allow the B cells to detect pathogens and release further antibodies to fight against the infection. Gene duplication allows evolution within antibodies. The Ab genes produces an antibody that capable of billions of different 3D structures and the ability to combine with any antigen. Somatic hypermutation is a cellular mechanism in which it diversifies B cell receptors used to recognized antigens and thereby allow the immune system to adapt its response to new response in an organism's life time. V genes make up the variable regions of the T-cell receptor with D and J genes.
