Answer a.

The function of the bronchus is to allow passage of the air in the respiratory system, to and from the lungs. The right main bronchi and left main bronchi are the first division that arises from the bronchus and therefore are known as the primary bronchi. Typically, the right main bronchus is much wider in location, is shorter in length and is placed in more vertical position the left bronchi, having mean length of approximately 1.09 cm only. On the other hand, left main bronchi is smaller but longer (on an average 5 cm long).

Answer b.

The right lung is having three secondary bronchi and left lung is having only two secondary bronchi. Lesser number in left lung is due to a smaller size to accommodate the heart.

Answer c.

Entire respiratory system, including bronchi, is lined with epithelial tissue. To be more specific, pseudo stratified columnar epithelial tissue is present in bronchi. Its function is to protect bronchi from any injury, screats mucus to keep it moist and trap foreign particles. It is having cilia on its surface which have a function to expell out any foreign particles that enters trachea or bronchi during breathing.
