Answer 1: (For this answer, I am defining the aging population as people aged between 50 and above. Otherwise, humans as a whole are aging population.)

• The assumptions about our aging population are usually about the changes in their mental functioning and capacities in terms of learning. The aging population is also considered senile and slow to adapt to the changing world and thus they are prejudiced and considered weak at learning them. Technology skills are assumed to be in the possession of the young generation and thus, there is reluctance in adapting to it.
• In my opinion, the truth is that learning has no age. If one has the willingness to adapt and apprehend new skills, age is not a barrier. Moreover, I have witnessed a lot of elderly who are pros at handling their own social media channels and grasping the skills. Moreover, smartphones are a requirement of contemporary times. Thus, we see a lot of the aging population using it too.
• One of the factors that influence the assumption of others is Generalization. We, as individuals, experience things in our own personal space and then interpret them by the common beliefs. For instance, if we see an elderly asking for help concerning knowing a mobile application well, one would assume it as an 'inability to learn on their own.' However, in reality, asking for help is just a common gesture but would be interpreted differently if a youngster were asking for the same help.
• Being a psychology student, knowing another perspective on a given situation is my first instinct before forming a judgment. Though this is not always the case, there are times when I interpret situations in accordance with common beliefs as well, and it's not wrong because we are human beings. However, some specific factors that influence my own perspectives is a belief that is in accordance with my moral principles and the opinions of the people who are close.
