mixture of mass of sand and sodium carbonate = 0.5518g

mass of sand = 0.3208g

mass of sodium carbonate = mixture of mass of sand and sodium carbonate - mass of sand

                                         = 0.5518-0.3208   = 0.231g

The percent sodium carbonate in the original mixture = mass of sodium carbonate*100/mass of original mixture

                                                                              = 0.231*100/0.5518   = 41.86%

The percent sand in the original mixture = mass of sand*100/mass of original mixture

                                                                              = 0.3208*100/0.5518    = 58.14%
